The Village Hall on Newland Road was opened in 1991 to provide a purpose built social facility for the village, along with the extensive playing fields. They are the venue for the very popular annual Walgrave Groove on the Green.

The facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, seating and tables for about 100 people, a foyer and sports changing rooms. The hall is used by a wide variety of groups and clubs – including the Walgrave Cinema Club, and, for example, for yoga, line dancing, short mat bowls and the Mums and Tots. The playing fields are used by football clubs and by Walgrave Primary School.

The Village Hall and Playing Field Committee organise several fundraising events each year to support the upkeep of the hall; the hall is also used for numerous other social functions, both for village fundraising and for private parties.
